Tokyo[]

Tokyo is a hometown of Ohana and Kouichi, where the story takes place at the start.

Yunosagi[]

Yunosagi Station is a railway station located in the vicinity of Kissuiso. It's based on Nishigishi Station, railway station on the Nanao Line in the city of Nanao, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It has a symbolic Yunosagi station sign, which was unveiled on April 29, 2011.

Kissuiso[]

Kissuiso is the ryokan where Ohana works and lives. Most events of Hanasaku Iroha take place here. Kissuiso is based on Yuwaku Onsen, a hot spring resort located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.

Fukuya Inn[]

Fukuya Inn is competitor of Kissuiso owned by Shigeko Wakura. Yuina Wakura, her granddaughter, lives there. It's based on Syuhokaku (or Shuhokaku), now defunct hotel (closed on March 17, 2018) in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.

Fish market[]

Fish market is based on Omicho Market, located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.

High school[]

High school, which Ohana and her friends attend to, is based on Kanazawa College of Art, located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
